It’s time! I need something that I can view on my iPhone. Cameras in more than one room so I can know if my husband needs help in that short window when I’m walking the dog or picking up groceries.
I've used the Blink cameras in my home for years now and have been pleased with them. They now have 2 way talk so you can communicate with your husband when you're out and about and he you.
If you are not there and you see he needs help, what do you plan to do. It sounds as if he as the point where he shouldn't be left alone. Really, if you are at the grocery store, how can you help. Hopefully if you take the dog out nearby you can return quickly. I have seen more posts like this lately. Do people have a false sense of safety and security by relying on tech and cameras? The people with dementia are still physically being left home alone.
I like the Ring camera for monitoring from different parts of the house. My father slept on the main floor, while I was below in the basement, and I used the Ring camera to check on him in the night if I heard a noise. I was also able to speak through the speaker to say, “Hold on Daddy, I will be right there to help you!”
I would not suggest using the camera to leave someone alone in the home.
LaView makes a lightbulb camera. You can screw it into any lightbulb socket up or down. I used it in my wife's bedroom on a standing lamp. I just removed the lampshade. I used it in several rooms by just removing a lampshade and a lightbulb. It doesn't matter if the camera is up or down, the camera view can be adjusted. The camera can be manually turned left or right and up and down from an app on your phone. The camera can be set to track a person's movements and it can alert you of motion by a notification on your phone. It has a very good microphone built in so you can hear the slightest noise and you can talk through the camera. The camera view is just as good as an iPhone camera and it's not a fisheye view like a lot of security cameras are (Blink). The camera uses infrared to see in the dark so it doesn't bother anyone asleep and the night vision is the best of any security camera I've seen. You can view multiple cameras at the same time on your iPhone. You can also insert a microSD card in each camera to record activity without having to pay a subscription. When something would come up missing in the house, I could review my wife's movements to see where she placed it out of sight. I also bought an Amazon Echo Show 8 to use as a security camera monitor on my nightstand and one in the bathroom so I could keep an eye on things from bed or from the shower. Check out LaView Lightbulb cameras on Amazon or their website.
I use the Amcrest cameras from Amazon, and view them from my Android phone. My mom travels with me to my home periodically, so I can check the cameras to make sure no one has broken in while we are gone....and when we are staying at her house (she sleeps downstairs and I sleep upstairs in one of the guest rooms) I can look at the cameras in the middle of the night when I hear her getting up to go to the bathroom (she's not exactly quiet...), to make sure she makes it back to her bedroom okay.
I actually pair a pager system and camera (different brands) I’ve had a lot of camera brands and I feel the notification alerts aren’t loud enough sometimes and and my grandmas so use to the pagers I needed one that went to my phone and then I open the camera app to see what’s going on or where she’s at. I just got this one from Amazon https://a.co/d/0bzISEbU I’ve gotten many different pager systems off amazon and like how loud they can be. I also have indoor cameras that I got from amazon as well https://a.co/d/08ONYb7S they are pretty affordable with all the cameras capabilities and they don’t require a monthly subscription if you have an sd card can be used for storage as an alternative option to save video clips. They also have motion tracking so the camera turns and follows movement which I have found so helpful.
