Yes, I agree.

Apparently, Rep-Payee only covers Social Security Income.
Spouse feels all the rest is HIS to splurge, and kept a secret from me.

This is not acceptable, at least to me. He has crossed a fine line of entitlement and betrayal. However, he does this once a year in November and December.

If the contempt continues, this will be the deal breaker.

Definitely a situation for separate accounts. No one touches MY money I worked hard for it.

I do think there are times where "yours, mine and ours" works best, but that is not always the case.

Sympathies, send. That's difficult.

Two words Send - separate accounts. I've always favoured the yours, mine and ours system but of course that doesn't always work for everyone.

The term "mutiny" in this context likely refers to a partner taking control of the finances, which can be a form of financial abuse regardless of the reason. While a husband with autism might take over money due to communication differences, a lack of understanding of shared finances, or other factors, this behavior can still be harmful and requires addressing the situation with clear communication and professional support.

This trick or treat concern reminds me of when I see the therapy dogs being brought into a room in a nursing home . Some of those dogs are big . I never felt comfortable around large dogs. When I see these dogs brought in ,
I’ve often thought if I was bedridden , or had dementia I would be frightened .
I think they should find out from the patient or the family if their LO did not like ( large ) or any dogs in general .
My parents did not like when the dogs came in. My mother liked the cats that used to come though .

I’ve seen trick or treat at facilities .
It’s always been in the common living room or dining room area and the residents selected to participate were those that would not be upset by the activity .

Casole, I agree. It sounds like it could be fun in theory but
I imagine some residents might get confused and stressed out.

I'm seeing several posts on fb saying "consider bringing your kids to a nursing home for trick ok treat, the residents will love it". Thoughts? Me, I think not a good idea at all...

Thank you Alva. Thank you Bundle of Joy. For your support during my heartbreak. I love her so much. False alarm. It’s not over. We had a misunderstanding about a topic that has since been all cleared up. We’re fine. My caregiving of my sister is going fine, too.

Haven’t been on the forum in a year. Recently, I’m suffering from heartbreak. I’m not sure if it’s over with the other person, but maybe. (I’m a man, and she’s a woman).

Yes in the news. I always take note when it's a cyclist or pedestrian because I walk and bike and it infuriates me that so many drivers don't accept responsibility.

cw - a 14 yr old kid> They were hurt badly enough to be checked at hospital?

Ah, I see. It was in the local news.

It could have been an AB car that hit the cyclist, but most black cars don't have grey side mirrors.

You would think an AB plate would be pretty distinctive, but given it was just a 14 yr old kid and they were hurt badly enough to be checked at the hospital I'm surprised they could give any description at all 🤔.
I had to chuckle at the question "do you know why I pulled you over" because that's a standard one, it's as if they're hoping you'll say "why yes officer, I was doing xxx" (lol)

cw - Yes it has been. Apparently It wasn't someone from the general public that made the report it was the person who was knocked off their bicycle. They thought they recognized the car - black 4 door. The policeman was so young, trying tp grow a moustache and so embarrassed.

I can really recommend to everyone, no matter how old you are, take a holiday! It has done wonders for me but I do wish I didn't have to deal with insurance nd car repairs now. There has been only cooperation from them so it should go smoothly. The car is a 2014 but with very low mileage and was in good shape so I would like to get it repaired rather than replaced.

Ah Golden, your holiday has been full of adventure! I'm actually impressed that the pubic made a report and the police pulled you over, now if only somebody rats out the SOB that hit that cyclist.

send - that's funny. It is a small coastal town and that was exactly the feeling I had when the police investigated us. Thankfully we weren't arrested! R joked that they could get moose DNA from the windshield. We laughed about it on the way home.

Golden,
Watching old reruns of Murder She Wrote on Roku, your story would fit right in
where she writes of Cabot Cove in Maine strange happenings where innocent
people get arrested. Small town suspicions. That was some good police work
anyway.

Was it a small town?

Shopping for a paring knife when I remembered Cwillie's story.

After several years of not having one, not remembering what happened to the two we had, maybe we just don't need one.

No longer pulling each celery stem apart to cut it, I take the entire celery stalk and start cutting the whole thing in half, then continue to cut tiny slices that end up as chopped celery. Then re-wash the cut up pieces, put the rest back in the refrigerator. Time is short for being in the kitchen.

Glad you got it fixed, cw. You were right about the leaves. We saw some wonderful colours driving back along just north of Lake Superior. The trees were turning nicely.

After the moose adventure we had another related one. Driving out of Goderich the police pulled us over and asked if we knew why. R answered, "No." Apparently someone riding a bicycle in Goderich was hit by a car last night. This person saw our car the next morning with the side mirror torn off and the moose damage and assumed we had hit them. They followed us out of town and called the cops. We had the police report reference number for the moose encounter and the receipt from the hotel in Sarnia as proof of our innocence and it all ended well for us. I could have shown them emails from my insurance company from a few days before but that wasn't needed. The young cop was embarrassed, poor guy.

We so enjoyed the trip and when I woke up this morning, my first thought was "Where are we going today?" Oh, well. Better do a little laundry first.🧺
